Apple’s iPad 2 is 33% thinner (at just 8.8mm) and up to 15% lighter (at 1.3 pounds) than the original iPad.
It features the same 9.7-inch LCD screen with Apple's new dual-core A5 processor for a faster performance, and a GPU for graphics performance up to nine times faster.
The device has two cameras - a front-facing VGA camera for FaceTime video chat, and a rear-facing camera for taking pictures and 720p HD video.
Apple’s latest device has a built-in gyro for advanced gaming; HSUPA support for UMTS networks, and a HDMI port will allow users to mirror their iPad screen on an HDTV.
The iPad 2 is available in black or white and comes with Apple’s latest OS, iOS 4.3, which has new features such as faster Safari browsing; iTunes Home Sharing; enhancements to AirPlay; and the ability to use the side switch to lock the screen rotation or mute audio.
Prices will be exactly the same as the original iPad when it launched.
