Alcatel One Touch smartphones launch on O2

Alcatel is launching the Alcatel One Touch 355 QWERTY and the Alcatel One Touch 708 smartphones on O2, it announced today.

The One Touch 355 comes with a QWERTY keyboard and track-pad and is aimed at dedicated texters and social media followers. It offers access to emails, Facebook and Twitter, and also comes with a VGA camera, enabling the user to upload images direct to Facebook. The One Touch 355 also includes an FM radio and MP3 player.

Alcatel’s One Touch 708 comes with a full touch screen, 1.3-megapixel camera and expandable memory, and is a compact design that is slightly longer than a credit card.

Both Touch handsets will be available in O2 stores nationwide and online.

David Johnson, O2 head of commercial and product management said: ‘We’re really happy to be selling Alcatel One Touch phones in our stores and online. Their mix of affordability and great design is something that we think our customers will really value.’

William Paterson, UK and Ireland Alcatel One Touch country director said: ‘This is a fantastic opportunity for Alcatel One Touch and one which we are very excited about. O2 is the UK’s largest operator, meaning Alcatel One Touch devices will now be available in all major UK networks and retailers.  This, coupled with Alcatel One Touch’s growth over the last twelve months, reaffirms the brand’s position within the mobile phone sector.‘
