iPad 2 stock shortage fear
Apple iPad 2 stock shortages could be on the cards as Apple's online store warns UK customers that they could face a two week wait for the device.
As Apple devotees gathered outside Apple stores for the UK launch of the iPad 2 today, there are fears that stocks of the iPad 2 may run low, as they did in the US, as Apple struggles to meet consumer demand.
Online orders for the iPad went live on Apple's website shortly after midnight, ahead of the 5pm launch in stores around the UK today.
Some shoppers began queueing two days ago outside the Regent Street store in London.
However some observers say the online waiting time is a marketing ploy aimed at driving fans to Apple’s stores to create even longer queues.
iPad 2 prices start from £399 for the 16GB WiFI-only version, up to £659 for the 64GB 3G + WiFi model.
