LG's flagship smartphone the Optimus 2X is seeing strong demand, selling out at distributor Data Select in just one day following its launch.
The Optimus 2X, launched last Saturday, is the world’s first smartphone with a dual-core processor. It comes with a Tegra 2 dual-core processor which gives it low power consumption and high performance.
Data Select chief commercial officer Roy Taylor said: ‘The LG Optimus 2X has been one of our most successful product launches of the year. We sold out in one day and are waiting more stock to satisfy customer demand.’
Phones 4u also reported strong sales of the device since its launch at the weekend.
Scott Hooton, trading director for Phones 4u said: ‘We launched a number of new Android devices at Phones 4u last weekend, including the new LG Optimus 2X. As a result of being able to offer such varied and extensive range of the latest handsets to our customers, it was an extremely successful trading period for Phones 4u, and one we hope to repeat again soon.’
The Android-powered smartphone offers fast web browsing with virtually no screen lag. It comes with 1080p HD video playback and recording, enabling the LG Optimus 2X to expand content on external displays to Full HD quality to offer a console-like gaming experience.
