T-Mobile yesterday (1 June) launched the ‘world’s most powerful smartphone’, the Motorola Atrix. The move breaks T-Mobile joint venture partner Orange’s exclusive on the product.
The lightweight Android-powered handset, which is the world’s first smartphone to feature fingerprint recognition security, is now available from T-Mobile stores, online and via telesales.
The Atrix also boasts a powerful dual-core processor, making it the fastest smartphone on the market.
T-Mobile head of device portfolio Nicola Shenton said ‘We are proud to be bringing Motorola Atrix to our customers, as it’s a device that is set to really change the face of mobile computing. With its ability to connect to a range of intelligent accessories, it’s perfect for gadget users who want a sleek, multi-purpose smartphone with a number of capabilities.’
Consumers can transform their Atrix smartphone into a netbook or media centre by simply purchasing two companion accessory docks, sold separately from T-Mobile.
The Motorola HD Multimedia Dock includes a remote control, mouse and keyboard while the Motorola Lapdock features an 11.6-inch screen, full keyboard and stereo speakers.

Customers can purchase the Atrix free from T-Mobile on a £35.75 per month, 24 month price plan which includes 900 minutes, 500MB of data, 500 texts and a Flexible Booster.
