Sensation does not have ‘death grip’ problems, says HTC

HTC has denied reports that its flagship smartphone the HTC Sensation suffers from the same ‘death grip’ issues that plagued the iPhone 4.

The handset, which is currently a Vodafone exclusive, reportedly lost its Wi-Fi signal easily and its mobile network signal also suffered when it was held in a particular way.

A HTC spokesperson said: ‘Every phone experiences a slight variation in signal strength when the antenna is covered in its entirety by a palm and/or fingers. However, under normal circumstances this does not affect the performance of the phone.’

The Sensation boasts a 4.3-inch screen and an eight-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash. It also packs a 16:9 widescreen display which can be used to watch movies streamed from the HTC Watch service.
