O2 launches Entrepreneur Awards 2011

O2 has launched this year’s Smarta 100, the annual celebration of the smartest small businesses in the UK.

The top 100 will be selected by a judging panel of successful entrepreneurs and the overall winner will be voted for by the public and announced at the awards ceremony at the Indigo2, London, in September.

Alongside a grand prize of £10,000 for the overall business, there are also a range of other goodies up for grabs, including a mentoring session with former Dragon Doug Richard and a 12 months’ subscription to Smarta Business Builder worth £360 for all of the Smarta 100, an iPad 2 for Best Use of Resources Award, and £1,000 worth of consultancy and training courtesy of RBS Mentor.

Announcing this year’s Smarta 100, Dragons’ Den star Deborah Meaden said: ‘I’m passionate about discovering exciting new businesses and encouraging ambitious people to think and work better. The Smarta 100 does both of these things – and celebrates the best of British business at the same time. Last year we uncovered 100 ambitious people who’d turned their ideas into flourishing businesses and I can’t wait to meet this year’s 100.’

Small business can now enter or nominate others at using the Smarta website. Entries are open until midnight on 8 August.
