Shebang to launch Go Mobile MVNO
Shebang is driving into the MVNO market with plans to launch the Go Mobile Network.
The prepaid MVNO will be promoted through Shebang’s network of over 100 Go Mobile stores and will be supported by a website, which was launched ahead of the MVNO this week.
The Go Mobile Network will connect its customers via Orange and provide roaming rights to T-Mobile. Shebang MD Iain Humphrey said: ‘We are now in a position to launch our own MVNO in store. We aim to give our customers the option of cheaper flat rates than the networks.’
Humphrey said calls will be priced at 14p and texts at 7p. Customers who sign up to the MVNO will also get a Samsung E1080 smartphone for £9.99.
‘We are not just launching a Sims service. This is a full MVNO which includes handsets. It is also the first multi-network branded MVNO.’
Humphrey said Shebang’s Go Mobile franchise partners were poised to push the new MVNO in UK stores.
He added: ‘This is an industry first and it is a great milestone for us to reach with the Go Mobile brand. We are offering an exclusive service within our stores and our franchisees are very excited about the prospect of selling this product.’
Humphrey said Shebang has secured deals with PayPoint, ePay, Payzone and other partners to ensure Go Mobile Network customers can top-up at over 50,000 outlets.
‘We are not restricting our customers as to where they can top-up. What we are offering is a full network just like Tesco Mobile and Virgin Mobile. This is a full MVNO service with full availability.’
This is Shebang’s second foray into the MVNO market. Earlier this year the company bought C Mobile, a ‘green’ MVNO aimed at local communities.
Humphrey said: ‘We learnt a lot about MVNOs through C Mobile and we have further plans in that area.’
