LG has diversified its smartphone range with the launch of its Optimus Sol smartphone.
The Android-powered handset measures just 9.8mm thick and features a 3.8-inch Ultra AMOLED display for crystal clarity even in direct sunlight.
According to LG, the Ultra AMOLED screen has a two-fold advanced reflection rate compared to standard AMOLED, which reduces image quality degradation.
The smartphone also features a 1GHz single-core processor, a five-megapixel rear-mounted camera and full access to apps on the Android Market.
LG Electronics president and CEO Dr. Jong-seok Park said: ‘The Optimus Sol stands out from its competitors as the most affordable 1GHz Android smartphone with an AMOLED display. By introducing a no-nonsense phone that boasts one of the best displays on the market, we think we have a real winner for consumers looking for a subtle but visually stunning phone.’
The LG Optimus Sol, which is available in black, titan and white, will be released in selected markets globally from next month.
