New SIM lets users roam on 2G, 3G and 4G networks

Security smartcard maker Oberthur Technologies has launched a multimode SIM card that can give users authenticated roaming access to GSM, UMTS, CDMA2000 and LTE mobile networks.

Qualcomm has validated interoperability between Oberthur’s new LTE CSIM card and Qualcomm’s MDM9600 and simultaneous voice and data over LTE (SVLTE) solutions.

The new SIM will support operators in their migration to LTE and enhance end-users’ rich media experience, said Oberthur’s Cedric Collomb.
