Huawei UK today (3 October) announced the appointment of David Poskett as its new enterprise channel director in the UK.
Poskett will be responsible for all of Huawei’s channel-related activities in the UK and Ireland. He will work with the enterprise product marketing and sales teams to execute and develop Huawei’s UK channel business plan, focusing on acquiring new partners to ensure future growth in the UK and Ireland market.
The company said that one of Poskett’s key priorities will be to set up a two-tier distribution model to optimise Huawei’s resources, while developing a customised channel programme for customers.
Poskett joins Huawei from Hewlett-Packard, where he has spent 25 years. He held positions including channel director for UK and Ireland and EMEA distribution sales manager.
Huawei said that Poskett has a proven track record for driving change and delivering strong and sustainable results and will help drive Huawei’s target of $15 billion in annual revenue globally for its global enterprise business by 2015.
‘With David’s extensive experience with the UK & Ireland channel community, I expect Huawei to fast-track its way to success in this area as channels are absolutely key to our growth. We will not transact directly with end-users, rather we will be in close contact with them, to position Huawei, our products and services and to fulfil our partners’ needs 100%,’ said Simon Culmer, VP of Huawei UK Enterprise Business.
Poskett said: ‘The emergence of cloud computing and the convergence of ICT has transformed the entire industry. There are unprecedented new opportunities for Huawei in the channel and I look forward to being involved in this strategic growth in the UK, which is a key market for Huawei.’
