Consumers in Leeds are most excited about the launch of the iPhone 4S, according to the latest Phones 4u statistics.
A poll conducted by the high street retailer’s uBar consumer panel aimed to find out which city wanted the smartphone the most. It revealed that 62% of respondents from Leeds were planning to purchase the handset when it goes on sale, while 41% of London respondents and 39% of those polled in Birmingham were also keen to get their hands on the device.
The iPhone 4S, which launches tomorrow (14 October) features improvements such as an eight-megapixel camera with a backside illuminated CMOS sensor for better low light performance, a faster processor as well as Siri Personal Assistant.
These ‘amazing new features’ that have been added were revealed as the driving force behind the high demand with 42% of those polled saying Siri Personal Assistant’ made them want it more.
The study also revealed that the highest demand was from the 19-30 year old age group, with 68% of those polled saying the iPhone 4S would make them happier than they are now.
Meanwhile, Phones 4u said that it would be increasing the amount of stock available in key stores in these regions as a result of the poll.
A Phones 4u spokesperson said: ‘It seems it’s all about the iPhone 4s for the people of Leeds. As such, we’ll be trying our very best to meet the demand and will be up-weighting stock in the most popular areas – including the Leeds Briggate, Central London and Birmingham stores.’
