Motorola unveils updated RAZR smartphone

Motorola has taken the wraps off an updated version of it its hugely popular handset, the Motorola RAZR, known in the US as the Droid RAZR.

The Android powered RAZR features a hyper-vibrant 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced display for vivid images, 1GB of RAM, a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and comes preloaded with the Motorola MotoCas app, which allows users to stream or download content from their home or work computer straight to their device.

Drawing some inspiration from its predecessor, the RAZR boasts an ‘impossibly thin’ shell with a stainless-steel core and every part of the handset is also protected by a splash-guard coating, including the electrical boards inside.

Motorola Mobility mobile devices Europe VP and general manager Ralf Gerbershagen said: ‘With the new Motorola RAZR we have re-imagined an icon; it’s an impossibly thin smartphone with mind-blowing power that Europeans will want to show off.

‘Thinner than your friends’ smartphone, it’s better looking too. We know our customers will be lining up to have the next generation Motorola RAZR – it’s the most captivating Android-powered smartphone on the scene.’

Meanwhile, users can pair the RAZR with various accessories such as the the Motorola RAZR Work and Play kit, which allows users to connect their device into the HD Multimedia Station to connect to HDTV, speakers and other peripherals for large-screen entertainment.

The Motorola RAZR will be available across Europe from November.
