O2 creates business intelligence team
O2 has promoted head of CRM Andy Day to the newly created role of general manager for business intelligence team.
The operator is creating the team to ‘bring together our existing customer data, insight and analysis to ensure we continue to develop the best products and services possible for our customers’.
The new business intelligence team will operate under O2 consumer and marketing director Sally Cowdry.
Day’s promotion comes after three years in the head of CRM role spearheading initiatives such as Priority Moments and Top-up Surprises.
In a recent interview with Mobile, O2 CEO Ronan Dunne spoke of the need for such intelligence. He said: ‘I sense in the market that some operators are chasing for physical numbers, rather than building sustainable long-term value for customers and therefore for shareholders.
‘You need to get the right balance between attracting customers via a deal versus a consistent approach to value – so the whole of the price experience and loyalty has to be right.’
