Evans leaves Vodafone for Telefónica role

Mark Evans has joined Telefónica UK from Vodafone as its chief financial officer.

He joins the business today (9 January) and reports to Ronan Dunne, CEO of Telefonica UK. Evans will also serve on the Telefónica UK board. The chief financial officer position had been held by Adam Castleton following Ramon Ros' move to Telefónica in Spain.

Evans had worked at Vodafone for the past decade, holding chief financial officer roles for the UK and Ireland and most recently in its global technology team.

Dunne said: '2012 will be a hugely exciting year for Telefónica in the UK and Mark is joining at a crucial time. Through leading the finance team, his role is vital in making sure we deliver our business objectives and commitments. Mark’s experience and energy will be invaluable in helping lead the company to even more success this year and I’m delighted to have him on board.'

Evans said: 'This is a great time to be joining a company that focuses on continually innovating and delivering great customer experiences. The industry is more competitive than ever before and I’m looking forward to taking on the challenge.'
