LG unveils 4G Spectrum smartphone for US market

LG has unveiled a 4G handset at this year's CES in Las Vegas, featuring the same display technology that is used in LG high definition televisions.

No UK release date for the LG Spectrum has been confirmed but it will go on sale through Verizon on a two year contract with a $199.99 payment from 19 January.

The device features a 4.5 inch screen with 1280x720 resolution. The smartphone has a Qualcomm 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 4G LTE connectivity. The Spectrum runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread with an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade coming during the first half of 2012.
