Huawei is targeting a third quarter UK launch for its Ascend P1 S smartphone, dubbed the world's slimmest device.
The device was revealed last night (9 January) at CES and is 6.68mm thin. It has a 4.3-inch, 960x540 Super AMOLED touch-screen and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on a dual-core 1.5GHz processor. Pricing has yet to be confirmed.
Huawei UK executive VP Mark Mitchinson said: 'These are extremely stylish and powerful devices, which we expect to be available to UK consumers from early Q3. Huawei’s Ascend P1 series will be backed in the UK by a multimillion-pound marketing campaign.'
The device also has an eight-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing lens for video calls. The Ascend P1 S will be available in black, white and pink. Huawei also revealed a P1 version of the device, which boasts the same functionality but measures 7.69mm wide.
The Ascend devices will come to the Asia-Pacific, North America, Australia, Middle East and Chinese markets from April 2012, in addition to a selection of European markets.
