Apple dominates operating system share in December
Apple continues to dominate mobile and tablet web browsing worldwide, with more than half of the market.
Global figures from monitoring company Netmarketshare showed that in December, Apple's iOS had a 52.1% share of the web browsing market. Its share has been falling from its October 2011 high of 61.5% when the iPhone 4S was released.
Google's Android operating system had a 16.29% share last month, up marginally from November 2011.
The Java ME operating system, which includes Samsung's bada OS and Nokia's Symbian platform, was the second most commonly used with a share of 21.27%, up from 19.69% in the previous month.
