The former MD of defunct dealer Fone Solutions has said he is quitting the mobile industry to pursue new interests.
Nick Underwood-Lea had joined the north-east based dealer Intelligent Business Solutions as MD. According to documents filed at Companies House, he was registered as a director on 11 August last year, before his appointment was terminated on 9 November.
He told Mobile: ‘I’ve parted company recently [from Intelligent Business Solutions] and I am taking some time out from the business, to be truthful. I’ve had enough of the telecoms industry.’
He said his future plans lay outside of the mobile business: ‘I think it’s a really incestuous place to be. I’m planning to look at other opportunities out there that offer greater rewards and a better long-term perspective.’
Mobile was then contacted by Michael Gray, who said he is the business’ MD. Gray is presently listed as the company’s commercial director on the site LinkedIn. He said Underwood-Lea left the business two to three months ago.
Gray said Intelligent Business Solutions no longer dealt with telecoms and focuses on media and lead generation.
However, on the company’s website, it says: ‘Intelligent Business Solutions are proud to be one of the UK’s leading independent providers of business telecoms services and solutions for the SME and corporate market.’
Underwood-Lea was previously MD of Fone Solutions. Its holding company, Look and Listen Ltd, was wound up in August 2010.
