Vodafone and Cubic sign MVNO deal

Cubic Telecom and Vodafone have signed an MVNO deal allowing Cubic's customers to use the operator's network while in the UK.

Customers will be able to access the network by purchasing a Maxroam Sim card from the maxroam.com site or from companies including Irish Ferries and Ryanair. Prepaid accounts can be topped up on the Maxroam website or in more than 350,000 retail outlets.

Cubic customers will be able to call on their mobile from the UK to any other country for 15c per minute. They can also buy data bundles ranging from 250MB for €6.

Vodafone UK director of wholesale Nick Parbutt said: 'This supports our strategy of recruiting the right growth partners into our business. We look forward to building success with Cubic.'

Cubic Telecom commercial director Gerry McQuaid added: 'This deal with Vodafone UK is the first of many which will propel us further to achieving our vision of a global connectivity service that gives customers convenience and cost savings all on one global prepaid Sim card.’
