Virgin Mobile launches first Alcatel handset on contract

Virgin Mobile has launched Alcatel's One Touch 282 handset into stores, the first of its devices to be offered by the MVNO on contract.

It is being marketed as an 'accessible' device and is priced £29.99 on prepay and free on contracts starting from £7.50. The device features an emergency call key that can be programmed with four contacts, a voice activated calendar and large keys for easy use.

Alcatel One Touch UK & Ireland country director William Paterson said: 'We have always tried to offer something for everyone, from an entry-level talk and text device to an Android smartphone. The Alcatel One Touch 282 is simple to use and now even more affordable on our first contract with Virgin Media so it would be perfect for any talk and text user.'
