Developers of Near Field Communication (NFC) technology will compete next month for the chance to win a kickstarter development fund and marketing support for their app.
O2 and digital communications agency Isobar will host the event, Isobar Create London, which will be held on 24-25 March at Shoreditch Studios in London. The event will see 100 developers build their apps before pitching them to representatives from the likes of O2, BlackBerry and Isobar. The developers will be asked to build applications for four brand sponsored categories – retail, sporting events, finance and leisure and entertainment.
The winning team will receive advice and the chance to win kickstarter funding through O2's global development platform BlueVia. It will also be able to promote their idea at an NFC-enabled poster site in central London.
Neil Rutter, head of NFC at O2 said: 'We are really excited about the possibilities that Contactless offers. Through BlueVia, and events such as this, O2 is committed to supporting and enabling developer communities to deliver innovative applications for consumers and businesses using NFC technology, limited only by their imagination. We look forward to helping bring some of the fresh thinking and new possibilities generated in this event into our customers’ everyday lives.
