Huawei to back smartphone range with multimillion-pound ad campaign
Huawei has appointed BBH as its global advertising agency to run a new multimillion-pound marketing campaign for its smartphones, tablets and connected devices.
The manufacturer said the global BBH campaign will be launched in the summer to back its new family of Ascend smartphones, focusing on the Ascend P1 device and a new handset that will be revealed at next week's Mobile World Congress (MWC).
The account will be managed by BBH at its London and Shanghai offices. Huawei will set up a new marketing hub in London to manage and co-ordinate its global brand work with its headquarters in Shezhen, China. The centre will be led by Amy Lou, director of global brand management. She will work closely with the manufacturer's recently hired UK marketing director Jill Styring.
Huawei UK executive VP Mark Mitchinson said: 'This is a milestone agreement for Huawei. There has been a great deal of work behind the scenes, over a number of months, and I am delighted at the appointment of BBH and incredibly excited about the birth of a new, differentiated and disruptive brand in the mobile market.'
