MWC 2012: ZTE's flagship Era smartphone to launch in Q3

ZTE is planning to launch eight new Android and Windows Phone devices at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week, with its quad-core ZTE Era smartphone heading up the pack.

The ZTE Era, launched today at MWC, comes with a 4.3-inch qHD display and runs on a Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor with 4-PLUS-1 technology.

The slimline ZTE Era runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and has 8GB of storage, which is expandable via a microSD card. It also sports a 1080p video camera and an eight-megapixel rear-facing camera. NFC capabilities are also included via ZTE's Touch and Share app.

The manufacturer has also developed a new UI called Mifavor, allowing users to add widgets, edit the home screen and integrate contacts. There's also a Music Hub.

The ZTE Era is due to be launched in Europe and China in the second half of 2012.
