Three signs partnership deal with eBay
Three has signed a deal with online auction marketplace eBay to preload the retailer's app on all Android smartphones.
From this spring, handsets with the latest version of Android will include the app, which has been downloaded more than 70 million times globally. According to eBay, the app generated sales of almost $5bn last year, more than five times the amount compared to 2010, which it said was caused by a surge in mobile commerce and smartphone usage.
Three head of media sales and content services Neil Andrews said: 'Three is the fastest growing network in the UK and is working with some of the biggest internet brands to ensure customers make the most of the internet on their devices.
'The deal with eBay is part of Three’s efforts to allow people to experience the benefits of the internet wherever they are. Three is also the home for all-you-can-eat data both on contracts and pay-as-you-go, so customers looking for a bargain can shop with the eBay app at high speeds on the latest devices without fear of ending up with a massive out of bundle charge.'
