Distributor Brightstar Europe has clinched an exclusive deal with HTC to distribute the HTC One S to all UK retail and b2b channels for the first three months from launch, Mobile understands.
The device will launch in the UK in Q2. Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile and Phones 4u have already confirmed they will range the HTC One S.
The HTC One S is the second of three devices in HTC’s One Series stable. The other two devices are the HTC One X – the manufacturer’s first quad-core phone and its flagship product – and the HTC One V.
Early indications from Mobile World Congress, where all three were revealed this week, suggest that the HTC S will be the biggest seller as the device with appeal to both the high- and mid-range markets.
The ultra-slim HTC One S runs on Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich and has HTC’s latest overlay, Sense 4.0. It is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz chip, has a 4.3-inch display, comes with an eight-megapixel camera and has a choice of finishes, including a carbonised ceramic coating.
Price points have yet to be revealed.
