Retailer and operator call centres will be targeted to ensure the new HTC One range makes a splash in the UK smartphone market.
HTC UK & Ireland executive director Phil Roberson (pictured) told Mobile he wanted to recreate the excitement that greeted the launch of the One range at Mobile World Congress. He said: ‘Let’s create the excitement of yesteryear in stores and call centres when marketing a new product.’
Roberson said that as well as the call centres, his managers will be working closely with operators, retailers and dealers to make sure everything is in place for the launch. He said: ‘We are growing new business here and we have all the major retailers, distributors and operators on board. We have 150 operators distributing for us.’
The handsets will go on sale in April and Roberson said he expects the HTC One X (pictured) to be available for around £40 per month, with the One S priced at £35, and the One V at approximately £30 per month.
Malik Saadi, principal analyst at Informa Telecoms & Media said: ‘From now on, HTC will build its product differentiation upon three main elements, including imaging, high-quality sound and music services, and unique industrial design with best in-class display technology.’
