HTC has started rolling out Ice Cream Sandwich to its smartphone devices, beginning with its Sensation handsets.

The manufacturer said it was working with operator partners worldwide to rollout the update. It said in a post on the HTC blog: 'We’re in the early stages of rolling out Android 4.0 for the HTC Sensation and HTC Sensation XE and upgrades will be more widely available in the next few weeks. The update for the HTC Sensation 4G and HTC Sensation XL will follow.'

Other devices set for the operating system update are the Droid Incredible, Amaze 4G, Desire S, Desire HD, Evo 3D, Evo Design 4G, Incredible S, Raider, Rezound, Rhyme, Thunderbolt and Vivid. The news comes a day after Samsung confirmed it would begin rolling out the latest Android OS to its Galaxy S II devices from next week.
