High street round up: Strong entry for D900
Samsung’s D900 made an immediate impact on the sales charts within its first week of release.
The handset is the third best-selling handset at Phones 4U and the fourth most popular device at the Carphone Warehouse. Both retailers are selling the device on O2, Vodafone and Orange, although the Carphone Warehouse is offering significantly cheaper deals than its rival.
Samsung is also enjoying continued strong demand for its E900 slider, while sales of LG’s KG800 Chocolate continue to slow down. The manufacturer is hoping that the forthcoming white and pink variants will help boost sales, and has given the Carphone Warehouse an exclusive deal on the white Chocolate to benefit from its advertising and marketing support.
Meanwhile, T-Mobile has dropped off the top-selling contract sales charts at both Phones 4U and the Carphone Warehouse. Its Flext deals where removed from promotional material following last month’s commission cuts, and salespeople at both retailers are now actively encouraging customers to choose another network instead.
