Samsung reveals £100,000 winner of bada app competition

The developer of a virtual flying app has won a £100,000 cash prize in a Samsung competition for its bada platform.

Marc Fortin won the prize during the bada Developer Day Challenge. Fortin's TurboFlyHD was voted the winner. Users of the app can fly a plane around a virtual track by tilting a phone from side to side. The competition was launched by Samsung to find the most innovative app idea for its own bada platform.

Keith O'Brien, head of content for the telecommunications and network division said: 'There was an exceptionally high standard of entries to this competition and Marc was chosen from 13 finalists, all of whom had submitted excellent ideas. TurboFlyHD met all of the required criteria however, offering users a fun game that is simple to use, yet reassuringly difficult. What’s more, TurboFlyHD is appealing to all users, children and adults alike.'
