Everything Everywhere appoints Morgan Stanley to handle spectrum sell-off
Everything Everywhere has appointed Morgan Stanley to oversee the sale of a chunk of its spectrum.
The business was required to sell a 2x15MHz chunk of 1800MHz spectrum as part of the conditions of the Orange and T-Mobile merger being given the go-ahead. The bank will begin talking to interested parties and it is hoped that the sale will be completed ahead of the forthcoming 4G auction later this year.
Reports have suggested the spectrum could cost as much as £400m. Rival operators are seen as the likeliest bidders, although technology companies could also come into the frame. Whoever wins must get approval from both Ofcom and the European Commission and show how the win will contribute to a competitive network.
