HTC appoints new CFO

HTC has appointed Chia-Lin Chang as the company's CFO. Chang will replace Winston Yung, who joined the company as CFO in January 2011.

The news follows HTC’s latest results, which showed its net income after tax plummeted by almost 70%.

The company said: 'Winston will focus on corporate development, helping HTC maintain its competitive edge by strengthening the organization and corporate talent.'

Chang, previously an investment banker and partner at Goldman Sachs, will be responsible for corporate finance and accounting, strategic acquisition and investment, and investor relations.

Chang earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania.  After receiving his Ph.D. degree, Chang served as an engineer at Motorola in the US.
