LG denies it is abandoning Windows Phone

LG has denied it is abandoning its Windows Phone devices but confirmed that the company's immediate focus will be on Android handsets.

The manufacturer was believed to be abandoning the Windows platform after a weekend report in the Korean press. An LG spokesman told The Korean Herald that Windows Phone sales are 'not in a meaningful figure'. The spokesman said it would continue research and development (R&D) on Windows Phone.

However, LG moved to deny the reports this morning. A spokesperson told Mobile: 'LG is still on board with Windows Phone, but right now, we're focusing on Android because that's where the demand is. Regardless of which OS, LG is committed to offering consumers as wide a choice as possible.'
