6280 a turn-off
Many Nokia 6280 handsets are suffering from software problems and have been sent back, dealers have told Mobile.
Customers have returned their phones with complaints of screens going blank, being unable to connect to Bluetooth, battery issues, memory problems and the phone turning itself off. Some dealers reported sending back as many as 80% of 6280s sold.
One dealer said that the software needs upgrading and the memory card compatibility needs to be checked. Another said: ‘We’ve stopped recommending them.’
Nokia’s head of communications, Mark Squires, said the software in initial batches did have problems but the phones were recalled.
He added: ‘The current version has 3.60 software; if anyone is still having problems, we invite them to get a free upgrade.’
