The best and brightest in the industry will be celebrated next month at the Mobile Industry Awards 2012.
On 14 June, attention will turn to The Brewery in central London, where retailers, manufacturers and operators will slug it out to be crowned the leaders in their field.
Because of the increasing excitement in the sector, Mobile has brought back its MVNO category this year to reflect the innovation, strength in branding and compelling marketing that makes this one of the most competitive areas of the industry.
Judges will scrutinise the shortlisted companies for financial success and to see who has distinguished themselves within the consumer and business segments. Three companies have been shortlisted, with giffgaff, Lycamobile and Tesco Mobile in contention for the prize.
Five companies have been shortlisted for the Best Manufacturer prize in what has proved to be an eventful year for the sector. Judges will look at the exciting range of products each company offers, as well as their innovation, marketing and reliability with trade partners.
The shortlisted companies are Apple, HTC, Nokia, Samsung and Sony.
The awards will also crown this year’s Shop Idol and Mobile’s Person of the Year – the individual whose achievements in the past 12 months have really stood out.
Tickets are selling fast. For more information, head to: www.mobiletoday.co.uk/awards. More details on the other categories will be featured in the next issue.
