LG is launching its quad-core Optimus 4X HD in western Europe from next month.
The manufacturer said the device boasts the biggest battery among quad-core smartphones and has a 4.7-inch True HD IPS display. The device runs on the latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
LG said the the User Experience application allows users to jot notes over any screen image for saving or sharing with others, while the Media Plex feature includes the ability to zoom into and out of a video during playback.
LG Electronics Mobile Communications president and CEO Jong-Seok Park said: 'Beyond the fast processor, superb display and largest-in-class battery, the Optimus 4X HD is the first LG smartphone to feature the new User Experience (UX). As the smartphone segment consolidates even further, it’s becoming more and more apparent that both great software and great hardware are crucial to stay on top of the game. LG intends to be a strong contender in both areas and the Optimus 4X HD is our proof.'
After going on sale in Europe, the device will be introduced to countries in Asia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and South and Central America in the coming months.
Meanwhile, LG Mobile has signed a sponsorship deal for the ITV2 reality show The Exclusives. Sponsorship will run across broadcast, mobile and online and supports the launch of the L Series of mobile phones. The show follows six wannabe journalists as they compete for a 12 month contract with Bauer Media.
