Mobile distributor 20:20 Mobile may be set to retain its position as Phones 4u’s logistical partner, Mobile understands.
A new deal would see 20:20 Mobile sign another three-year contract with Phones 4u to deliver a variety of distribution functions, including warehousing and reverse logistics. It is one of the industry’s largest distribution contracts.
20:20 Mobile was tipped as a strong contender for the new three-year deal having delivered Phones 4u’s logistics service since the retailer’s launch. A Phones 4u spokeswoman said: ‘To confirm, 20:20 Mobile is our current and future supplier.’
Meanwhile, Mobile understands 20:20 Mobile’s multimillion-pound distribution deal with BT is still up for grabs.
The three-year contract is due to expire this year, and involves supplying the company with handsets and accessories across BT’s consumer, business, major customers and online sales channels. The contract also includes pre- and post sales logistics services to BT.
Mobile understands the handset deal covers the supply of 175,000 BlackBerry, Nokia and Samsung handsets each year. Bids were due in by the end of March.
