Carphone readies Acer's Olympic tablet for launch

Carphone Warehouse has announced it will sell the Acer Iconia A510 Olympic Tab next month, which will give consumers free access to Eurosport to watch the London 2012 Olympic Games.

No pricing has been confirmed for the 10.1-inch device, although it sells for approximately $449 (£286) in the US. The Android Ice Cream Sandwich tablet features a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and storage space of up to 32GB with a microSD card.

Acer said the Iconia A510 Olympic Tab has one of the longest battery lives of any tablet offering up to 15 hours of continuous use.

The tablet features a print of the five Olympic rings on its back. Acer is giving consumers unlimited access to Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 through the tablet from 27 July until 13 August, allowing them to watch the Games on their device.
