RIM's head of global sales quits
Research in Motion's head of global sales Patrick Spence has resigned from his post in the latest upheaval in senior management at the manufacturer.
Spence has worked at the company for 14 years and is leaving for a job in a different industry. A report in Reuters claims Spence stepped down after being passed over for the COO role recently filled by Kristian Tear.
No replacement has been named and the sales team will report directly to RIM CEO Thorsten Heins on an interim basis before Tear starts work in a few months.
Spence's departure is the latest high profile exit at RIM. COO Jim Rowan and head of software David Yach exited in March, while co-founder Jim Balsillie quit the board.
