Sony primes water resistant Xperia Go for summer launch
Sony Mobile has revealed the latest smartphone in its Xperia portfolio, the water resistant and durable Xperia Go.
The device will go on sale in the third quarter of this year. Sony said the phone meets the industry standard International Protection ratings to safeguard it against dust and water immersion.
The phone eschews the typically rugged design of water resistant smartphones. It has a 3.5-inch, scratch resistant screen, a 1GHz dual-core processor and runs Android Gingerbread. The device will be upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich.
The Xperia Go also comes preloaded with Sony Entertainment Network's Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited services, giving access to television shows, films and millions of songs.
