Phones 4u spends £10m on new upgrade campaign

Phones 4u has launched a new £10m advertising campaign aimed at raising awareness of the retailer as a destination for upgrades.

The campaign launches tomorrow (16 June) and is dubbed 'Upgrades 4u and u and u'. It features a voiceover from Inbetweeners star Alex MacQueen and cameos from former EastEnders actor Dean Gaffney and Big Brother winner Sophie Reade. The first ad will run during Million Pound Drop on Channel 4 and Big Brother on Channel 5, with the campaign running through till October. The retailer will also launch a radio campaign from 21 June, an outdoor and press campaign from July, and support the campaign instore and via social media.

Phones 4u head of brand communications Caspar Nelson said: 'We’re really excited to be launching our new upgrades campaign. We know how important it is for customers to own the latest smartphones, and we’re aiming to raise awareness of Phones 4u as THE destination for a great upgrade deal, whether you’ve shopped with us before or not. Of course this message is delivered in the distinctive Phones 4u style that sets us apart from our competitors.'
