Orange has been chosen to continue providing central government departments with mobile services.
Under the Government's new Public Services Network (PSN) Services framework, Orange will also work with healthcare providers, education services, local authorities, blue top organisations and associated non-profit organisatons.
Orange, which is part of Everything Everywhere, said that throughout a rigorous nine-month selection process it offered a range of 'innovative' products and services to meet the needs of public sector. Orange said these included:
• A simple, all-inclusive tariff for central government so any department requiring mobile services for their staff have the best rates with no hidden costs
• A range of services, including its Flexible Working Package to enable employees to work remotely; Orange Health Gateway to help hospitals save time and money with automated text reminder services; and Secure Mobility which keeps employees’ mobile data safe when they’re working on the move.
Martin Stiven, VP of Everything Everywhere, the company that runs Orange UK, said: 'We already have strong connections with the public sector and are proud to be reselected as a mobile vendor.
'Being included in the PSN is an evolution of our long-standing relationship with the public sector, which has already benefited customers including the Scottish Government, which believes it will save £1.6m over four years through its work with us.
'We’re excited to be part of the next three years and look forward to using it as an opportunity to develop even more innovative products and services.'
