Micro-P has extended its footprint into the Benelux with the acquisition of Go Connect, a unified communications distributor based in Rotterdam and Brussels.
Specialising in audio and video conferencing, Go Connect’s primary vendors are Plantronics, Polycom and Lifesize and in total it represents fifteen vendors in the Benelux region.
Established by Hans Gerritsen 16 years ago, Go Connect says it provides many of the peripheral solutions that businesses need to deploy when implementing Microsoft 365, Avaya, Cisco and IBM UC solutions.
Go Connect, which generated a turnover of £20m in 2011, also provides managed video conferencing and desktop conferencing solutions under the Doxom brand, which it says enables its resellers to provide turnkey solutions for their end customers.
Commenting on the acquisition, Micro-P MD Gerry O’Keeffe said: 'Go Connect is very highly regarded by UC vendors as being a real value-added distributor.
'We are very excited at the prospect of bringing some of their propositions to the UK and Irish market. In particular, they are very clear that unified communications means both voice and visual communications. We believe this is very relevant to the business user that invariably may be using a laptop, tablet and smartphone. Go Connect is an important step in the Micro-P plan to providing truly convergent solutions to our reseller/dealer base'.
Asked if this was indicative of wider plans for Micro-P, O’Keeffe said the company was focused on supporting its key vendor partners beyond the UK and Ireland where the right opportunity presents itself either organically or through acquisition.
O’Keeffe went on to say that for the right business in convergent technologies, Micro-P, backed by its parent DCC plc, was well placed to help them reach their full potential.
