Vodafone Group has revealed the team to lead the integration of Cable & Wireless Worldwide (CWW) after the acquisition was completed and the company was delisted from the London Stock Exchange.
Nick Jeffery, CEO of Vodafone Global Enterprise, has been appointed CEO of CWW with immediate effect. It marks his return to the fixed-line operator, having started his career at CWW subsidiary Mercury Communications in 1991. He joined Vodafone in 2005 and has led its global enterprise team since 2006. He replaces Gavin Darby, who will work with Jeffery on the integration of the business until the end of October. Also leaving at that time will be CFO Ian Gibson, acting CTO Dave Broady and acting HR director Jane Little.
Jeffery and Vodafone UK CEO Guy Laurence will oversee the integration of CWW's commercial and back office operations. Group CTO Steve Pusey will lead integration of its network and technology assets.
Vodafone Group also made several appointments to the CWW senior team. Diego Galli, formerly CFO of Vodafone Turkey, has joined as finance director. Vodafone Group network services unit director John Thompson has been appointed technology director. Vodafone Netherlands HR director Francesco Bianco joins as HR director and Mark Allison, who heads Vodafone's Global Enterprise commercial team, has been appointed integration director.
Replacing Jeffery as the CEO of Vodafone Global Enterprise is Jan Geldmacher, enterprise business unit director of Vodafone Germany.
Vodafone Group CEO Vittorio Colao said: 'Nick is an excellent leader with a deep understanding of enterprise customers' needs, a track record in value creation and familiarity with CWW's business. Similarly, with his strong background in multinational client leadership, Jan will be well-placed to succeed Nick as CEO of Vodafone Global Enterprise. I would also like to welcome Diego, John, Francesco and Mark to their new roles as we begin to integrate CWW into Vodafone, and express my thanks and best wishes for the future to Gavin, Ian, Dave and Jane.'
