Emporia Telecom appoints former LG man as its new head

Austrian-based handset maker Emporia Telecom has appointed former LG man Gary Vincent as its new country director for UK & Ireland.

Vincent, who has more than 10 years' experience in the mobile communication market with expertise in operator network relations, will be responsible for developing business strategy and growing handset sales in the two countries.

Prior to working at LG, where he held a number of posts over five years, Vincent worked as an international account director at Vodafone Group’s BenQ Mobile.

Vincent said: 'Emporia Telecom’s sales have doubled year on year since the company started. I aim to build on the success and growth Emporia Telecom has achieved across Europe in the UK and Ireland markets, bringing network operators and both major and independent retailers and distributors on board.'

Emporia CEO Eveline Pupeter said: 'By appointing someone of Gary’s talent and experience, Emporia is showing complete commitment in achieving high growth in the UK & Ireland.

'He will provide us with drive and a major presence in this market segment, consolidating and growing network and business relationships within this region.'
