Pictures of the new Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 smartphones appear to have been leaked on Twitter just days before the formal launch of Nokia’s latest devices.
The images were released on Twitter on an account called @evleaks, which also leaked images apparently showing new HTC devices last week.
The handsets closely resemble Nokia's earlier Lumia devices and come in a range of colours. The larger Lumia 920 has a 4.5-inch display while the smaller Lumia 820 has a 4.3-inch screen and comes in more colours. No information was provided with the images.
Nokia is set to launch its new Lumia devices in New York on Wednesday this week in a joint press conference with Microsoft. The event will run at the same time as Nokia World in Helsinki and comes a week before Apple is expected to announce its latest smartphone.
Nokia is hoping these latest additions to its Windows-based Lumia range will add traction to its continuing drive into the smartphone market in the face of concerted competition from Samsung and Apple.
Last week, Samsung stole a march on Nokia with the unveiling of the world’s first Windows Phone 8 smartphone, the Ativ S, under its new sub-brand Ativ.
