Shebang's group commercial director Steve Heald has quit the company to take on a new role with a utility provider.
Heald’s departure comes just three months after cashflow problems forced Shebang MD Iain Humphrey [pictured] to sell off Shebang’s Purple Partnership franchise business, including 100 Go Mobile franchise stores and Shebang’s online retail business AffordableMobiles.co.uk, to rival retailer A1 Comms.
Heald left his post as Everything Everywhere online sales director in April last year to take on the role of group commercial director at Shebang. He played a key role in restructuring the business, working closely with Duncan Hay, former Everything Everywhere sales director, who joined as MD of Shebang Technologies Group in December last year.
Speaking to Mobile, Humphrey confirmed Heald’s departure but would not be drawn on his replacement. He added: ‘Steve was made an offer outside of mobile with a utility provider which we could not match.’
Humphrey said fellow director Duncan Hay remained committed to the business and added: ‘We intend to concentrate on our MVNO business and our accessories business going forward.’
