Kelly Johnson, former head of national retail at Shebang Logistics Solutions, has joined distributor Data Select as head of business development for accessories in the retail channel.
Johnson played a key role in Shebang’s retail and accessories division and her arrival is a further signal of Data Select’s ambitions to grab a greater share of the accessories market. It follows the appointment of Garth Kennedy, former BrightPoint senior account manager, as Data Select’s accessory account manager.
A company statement said: ‘With a wealth of industry experience, Kelly’s recruitment is further evidence that Data Select has a strong focus on accessories, following on from the recruitment of Garth Kennedy last month.‘ Data Select MD Roy Taylor said: ‘We have a great team in place to focus on developing accessory sales across all channels. With Garth and now Kelly, we have experts in both the dealer and retail channels who I’m confident will take our business forward.’
Johnson is one of a number of key personnel to have left Shebang since financial problems forced its MD Iain Humphrey to sell the company’s franchise and online retail businesses to A1 Comms in June this year.Johnson’s departure closely follows that of Shebang’s group commercial director Steve Heald, who left to take up a position in the utilities sector earlier this month.
