Virgin readies TV push
Virgin Mobile is launching the UK's first mobile TV service, which will be available for both contract and prepay customers.

Available from 1 October, the service can only be viewed on Virgin's Lobster 700 handset. BBC One, ITV1, Channel 4 and E4 are the channels that will be available, along with 30 to 50 DAB digital radio stations.

Customers on a Virgin Mobile contract worth £25 or more per month can get the phone and service for free. Prepay users will have to pay £199 for the handset and £5 per month for the service, although it'll be free for the first three months.

The Lobster 700 will be available from Virgin Megastores and WHSmith concessions, the MVNO's standalone stores and its website. The service is provided by BT's mobile broadcast entertainment service BT Movio.
