Tesco launches new Phone Shop trial
Tesco is trialling a new look Phone Shop, after adding another 15 shops to its portfolio during the last six months.
The supermarket announced the revamp in its half year results, which revealed its first drop in profits since 1994. There was better news for its MVNO proposition, which runs on the O2 network. Tesco said it has now become the UK's biggest MVNO, with more than one million customers on contracts. It said sales in its online business have trebled in size since 2011.
The supermarket said: 'We are also currently trialling a new look and feel Phone Shop, with better product information, more modern fixtures and live handsets for customers to try in store. Initial customer response to the changes has been very positive.'
Earlier this year Tesco said it was increasing its number of mobile phone stores by 10% to 264 by the end of 2012.
